“Masculine and Feminine roles are not biologically fixed but socially constructed” Judith Butler

How often we are taught to give ourselves an imprint on our sexual category; right from the time we are born. We take a tag along with us once we are out of our mom’s womb. If we have a vagina; we are tagged as female and a penis; we are male. Well, it’s not the thing that bothers me. It is the persistence of this tag throughout our lives.

From the initial days, we have preached how to recognize gender. In schools we are repeatedly taught a family consists of a male; i.e. a father and a female i.e. a mother. In submission forms or hospital bills or even resumes there’s often a category that is said to tick below if you are a male or female. The most important thing that strikes me is that even some NGOs have it. For me as a person; I habitually find this unconventional. I never tick on those boxes because I don’t want to. For me, it’s like giving my proof of gender identity which I don’t need to. Its true people are now open to accept the various beautiful forms of their sexuality thus breaking the barriers of society. But we are still to educate one another on such topics. We have to stop commenting on each other with abuses around sexuality. From accepting the new change in society we have to educate ourselves and others that the way we react around a transgender person should be stopped. The pointing and cracking jokes around how a girl behaves and a boy must be stopped. Our schools must stop printing textbooks around conceptualizing a family of a male and a female. We must teach our kids the behaviors of humans and the broad aspect of love and not shy away from it. The greatest aspect we as a human being can derive is to consider being supportive of each other. Youths in today's generation have played a pivotal role in developing a nation. We as youths have that gripping power in us which can bring in such tremendous changes. Let us see the world from one child's viewpoint; I bet we will never want to grow up again. Why not keep the rational and innocent feeling the way they are and never let them grow. Don't we all want that? Then what we are waiting for! A small change starts with you and from you to others. Let's take this small step to recreate a picture of a universe from the eyes of a child. We all deserve that! Let's recreate humanity and love for we have to shape this world of billions.
